An open letter to my President Barack Obama.
I believe you have tried very hard over the past years to represent your constituents without turning into a single minded ultra liberal. The problem now is that the Republican party has used their tea party and fake grass roots movements in order to take away a power the Democrats never did use when they had it in Senate. Now they are using that to undo or prevent everything they can for the middle class. These things happen. Hopefully we will prevail and you will have some new political clout in witch to actually help the middle class.

Your sending emails now asking for fundraising money from your constituents. I did donate before. I was in my younger 30's. Single, no kids, and had excess spending cash so donating 5 bucks every couple weeks was no big deal.

Now I am a married home owner with 2 teenagers. Giving your campaign 20 bucks is a choice I have to think about. And for some reason the upper crust has cash to spare for supporting people that will do their bidding. They can wield powerful individual influence on the direction of politics in the United States of America. The political power in the US is cash.

By not being able to put through your ideas during your term, and capitulating as much as you have time and time again you have deflated your support base. I don't mean in morale. I mean in cash.

The middle class is tapped. We don't have an easy five dollars to donate. (Or three.) Lunch is ramen noodles or drive illegally. Taxes on my home are steep because I want to live somewhere half way decent that still isn't good enough for my kids or wife. Yet we keep working at it. The middle class is broke and only becoming more so.

The middle class is broke and or becoming more so every day. The prices of everything have gone up drastically in your short term and we haven't seen relief or change. All of the changes so far have created more pain. We have given everything we have to give in order to support your cause. And now your emails asking for more are starting to piss me off.

Where is the relief for the middle class? If someone can let me know what has been accomplished that was not immediately offset in higher charges to the middle class in forms of goods and or services let me know. And Mr Obama. If the democrats want me to be a supporter and you get another term. You better damn well deliver SOMETHING tangible.

Whatever happended to games = art?
Remember when video games were something new and interesting.

Remember playing a game where it was a flight sim but you were flying through massive mining tunnel complexes trying to shut them down because the robots took over.

Remember having to play in two realms cohesively to achieve ultimate success as you fight and hack your way to success?

Remember when developers talked about the games as art and treated the creative minds behind the games as artists?

What happened to the art? Where did we take a turn in this industry to where one bad move marters you to your cause never to make something great again? (Dikatana anyone.)

Pass this on to your friends in the industry. I am curious to know why we haven't (in the US at least) seen something great in such a long time.

To the developers I say be an artist.

To the big game publishers I say treat your development houses like great actors and directors. Have them churn out something to make you the bucks... then in turn be willing to fund something that inspires THEM not just your share holders. Through those actions we will see innovation I hope. Right now the only innovation is in my damn iPhone apps it seems. (Or other micro cost small team developed games.)

Spirit number? Garunteed in five questions on less!

Your Spiritual Number is Five

You bring adventure and change to people's lives.

You are willing to challenge your friends and push them to grow.

Right now, your life is about figuring out where to direct your energy.

If you're not careful, you can become too unreliable or flighty. You need the perfect project.

You live a free form life - which allows you to be very innovative and a great problem solver.

Rules, schedules, and structure practically destroy you. You have to do things your own way.

Taste this rainbow bitch!!
Your rainbow is intensely shaded green, gray, and brown.

What is says about you: You are an intelligent person. You appreciate tradition and wisdom that comes with age. You depend on modern technology and may feel uncomfortable without it. You feel closer to people when you understand their imperfections.

Today I sit in my cube here at work, thinking about events. Going through gathering reactions from those around me and it makes me think of a word. Reflections.

Reflections in a meaning such as memories and thoughts.

Reflecting on the history that has been and will be created in my lifetime.

Reflecting on the fall of the wall in germany,

Reflecting on the attacks of 9/11 and the rampent paranoia and fear that gripped so many so tightly.

Reflecting on our recent election of Barack Obama.

I have a hope for the future of America and the world that I honestly have not had since that day back in 2001. The world finally has the chance to recover, to heal, and to become a better place. I have hope again for what tomorrow will bring, not just for myself but for everyone around me!!!

It is an exciting time to be alive.

There is a kernel of fear. I feared an assassin in the crowd when Barack Obama gave his acceptance speech. I couldn't relax and absorb it until I noticed the bullet resistant/proof glass screen surrounding the stage.

I have a dream of our world working together to become a better place and I really think we have someone in the White House who wants to see that happen!!

The future is bright, well at least the switch is turned on again so the bulb can warm up some!!

To those that read this, know that I love you all. And together we have the ability to become a better people finally!!!!!

* Grab the nearest book.
* Open the book to page 56.
* Find the fifth sentence.
* Post the text of the sentence in your journal along with these instructions.
* Don't dig for your favorite book, the cool book, or the intellectual one: pick the CLOSEST.

To the RR Martin Fans that feel the need to discuss my post on his Journal.
Yep I don't like that he has not produced a book that was supposed to be the second half of another book. Has had to push it back several times. And basically from appearances is just living off of the good name his previous books have garnered him. I think it is rather crappy of him to milk his notoriety. I think the last book in The Song of Ice and Fire was the weakest of the series so far. Not to say that it is bad, but it is clear he is stretching things out. More power to him if he can do that and still feel good about what he is writing and continue to entertain the masses that do read the novels he has published to date. (I Myself admittedly only read his ASOIAF series.)

What I don't like to read is... When it is football season his productivity turns to mush by all appearances. Maybe I am wrong on this. Perhaps he is truly productive eating hot wings and working on his book between plays. I want to see him communicate that he is working on the next in the series.

Yes I want him to enjoy his life. Really I do. But that want apparently is in direct conflict with my want of a quality product produced by him within half a decade of his last book.

I don't want another great Fantasy series to end simply because the writer was physically unable to produce. Or because the books have turned to space savers on a book shelf nothing more.

I have worked on some longish term projects in my time. My concern is he lets his mind slip from the task at hand then looses all focus on the series. Maybe he hates the series at this point and is only continuing it for a paycheck. Perhaps he refuses to put out garbage books and forces himself to write quality but the act of doing so wears him out because of the bile in his stomach churning from writing a series he no longer gives a crap about.

I don't know why he doesn't continue. These are just guesses. I've been reading his blog for several years now. I don't post to it often. (never when he writes about football.. well if you are reading this why I think you are... almost never.) Heck I don't blog much myself due to the fact that I live and work and play. All of these things take up so much of my time that I can't reasonably do this on a regular basis.

So George RR Martin fan's, foes, and heck personages, feel free to post your vitrolic responses to my post in his football thread here. I welcome your feedback.

I look forward to a civil discourse on Mr Martin's writing habits and there being my place to comment or not.

Oh and if you are unable to have a peaceful conversation on the matter. Don't bother posting to my blog. Thank you.

And an interesting side note. Perhaps for the best considering the hate my input brought about.

When I started reading Mr Martin's blog entries I was intrigued. Even supportive of his feedback to the community. But as of late I have noticed something. Less and less negative posters in his LJ. This is a good thing, but how good is it? And Why is it happening?

Allow me to address the second question first.

Why are his threads predominantly positive and much less busy now? Because Mr Martin only wants psychophants posting in his thread. Or perhaps he doesn't want to see the point and counterpoint of his work delays posted in a place where he may very well read them. Or really the most likely answer. The discourse is tiresome to him. Perhaps even depressing. If that is the case let me say now I apologize to you Mr Martin if my input has caused you some pain or discomfort. I am just a frustrated reader who has seen another favorite fantasy series tumble off the deep end with the death of it's writer. I above all do not want to see your series that is admittedly of a higher caliber suffer the same fate.

Ok so I managed to address both questions in the above statement.

If I wasn't a fan I would not bother posting about this in the first place. May your creativity flow. Preferably of course into ASOIAF and publishing it in a timely manner with a quality you are surprised by.

Ok creative people that I know or have me friended...
For some reason I have this innane desire to make a internet meme spoof of the matrix.

For instance the scene where Neo stops to fight Agent smith for the first time... Trinity asks... "what is he doing?" And morpheous responds... "Starting to believe."

Instead of that Neo turns to face agent smith.. Trinity ask.. why stops has he? And morpheous response... "He can has cheezburger..."

you get the idea... so meme up your favorite scenes.. go heavy or light... but the object is to have fun with it!

Neo... "Weird.." Trinity... "What was weird" Neo... "I could swear I just saw a cat eating a cheesburger." Morpheous "Damnit.. the memes are here.."

Things are getting dicey.
Watching the market, with friends and family involved in many sectors. We all shake our heads when politicians continuously say that it is about to get better, we all shake our heads. This is going to last years not months.

Your result for The Attachment Style Test...

The Waffler

You're not the most decisive person. You tend to be unsure what you want out of your attachments, and it's unlikely you've had more than mediocre relationships. Either that, or you've had some good relationships, and some bad relationships, and you're just between them at the moment. The point is that you don't know what you want. You vacillate between trust and mistrust, and between low and high self-esteem. You probably have a couple of good friends who support you and believe in you, but you tend not to let things get too heavy. You like to sit on fences.

Fictional character with whom you might identify: Xander (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Amelie (Amelie)

Other Attachment Types:
Secure: The Unicorn | The Cuddleslut | The Free Agent
Preoccupied: The Cling Wrap | The Squid | The Insect
Fearful: The Doormat | The Leper | The Exile
Dismissing: The Hermit | The Stone | The Player
Confused: The Waffler

Not every post is negative!!
You heard it here first. Not every one of my posts will be about something negative or tragic that I want to share!! No not all!!

This past week I was able to pay off two credit cards!! YAY!!! And I got to offically tell Bank of America to go eff themselves!!! I WAS SO HAPPY THAT I COULD DO THAT!!

Lets see.. I also picked up a blue ray player... ok... so it is a PS3. Really that is the best blue ray player out for bang for the buck. And compared to the Xbox 360 this thing is silent like a ninja. In the world of Ninjas Vs Pirates.. it is clear the Xbox 360 is the Eauropean Pirate and that the PS3 is the Ninja...

I also picked up an HD (component so no 1080p for me just 1080i... as that is all my tv will support I am the happies.) switch box for around 100 bucks. It's nice but the remote is SUPER WEAK. not sure why. I need to check some forums on that one.

So far I have grabbed 3 movies in HD. And I am resisting the urge to replace current collection of normal DVD's with HD dvd's. I have grabbed 3:10 to Yuma. As well as Live free or Die Hard. (When will transformers be out in blue ray?!) And fifth element. I never owned it before but I do now.

I will say for a while the PS3 was frustrating me. On blue ray movies I was not getting dolby digital over fiber optic. I searched and dug in there... until I stumbled upon a sole setting that solved my sonic sobs of sadness. I had to put the fiber optic out to bit something... and not lcm or whatever it weas called. Since I did that I get DTS and DD out of my ps3 for my blue ray movies again. JOY!!!

Now to see if a regular DVD does the same thing.

So I had a BBQ on Saturday. Invited my gaming friend and my Girlfriend Emily and her two kids Alex and Katie. They are good kids. Most of my friends ended up playing Rock band on the 360 until they were hoarse or exhausted (drum kit). Man that is a lot of fun but I missed it because I was BBQ'ing and hosting other friends who didn't want to do that.

A good time was had by all!!

I am glad I can say that.

Anway until next time blogsphere!

Oh and George RR Martin really needs to hurry it up with his next book!
